Eminem & Big Daddy Kane Chops It Up In The Studio Together

Big Daddy Kane shares a picture with Eminem.

In a surprise, the legendary Big Daddy Kane posted a picture with another Hip-Hop icon, none other than Eminem. The Brooklyn rapper shares the picture of him sitting in the studio with the Detroit Rapper. “Chopping it up tonight with this great lyricist @eminem We spread a lot of love in this convo.” wrote Kane in the caption.

Big Daddy Kane’s debut album, Long Live the Kane, was released on June 21, 1988, by Cold Chillin’ Records. It was created by Marley Marl, and it established both of them as top hip hop performers during the golden period of hip hop. The album was named one of The Source’s 100 Best Rap Albums in 1998. It was voted the sixth-best hip hop album released in 1988 by ego trip in 1999. It was named the sixteenth best album of 1988 by Spin magazine in 1989. Nas named it one of his top 25 albums of all time.

In past interviews and songs, Eminem has praised Big Daddy Kane, who had a major impact on him while he was growing up. The two renowned rappers appear to have mutual regard for one another. Kane said last year, comparing Eminem to rap’s Kobe Bryant. “That era would be the era after JAY-Z, Nas, Biggie, Tupac, so that would be, I assume, Eminem, Jadakiss, Fabolous, and Ludacris, maybe. So I guess those would be the elites you would consider the next Kobe ’cause that’s the next era. It would be one of them. I guess lyrically, my favorites would be Em, Jada, and Fabolous.”

The images have sparked expectations of a collaboration between the two Rap legends.

Last year around this time, Big Daddy Kane called Eminem Kobe Bryant of Hip-Hop on Cherie’s World podcast. “I was just on Instagram and I saw a post and said no not Kobe, so I just googled it and when I saw what happened, I was really in a state of shock, you know like I was really in a state of shock, like wow this is real you know, this was a young brother, you know one of the Greats you know, I would probably have him in my Top 5, you know I mean one of the Greats in the NBA.” Later he was asked If Jay Z is Michael Jordan of Hip-Hop then who he thinks would be Hip-Hop’s Kobe Bryant to which he replied, “I don’t know what’s the generation after Jay? I don’t know, would be Eminem.

Both of them acknowledge each other as a lot of times Eminem has called Big Daddy Kane one of his biggest influences. It would be interesting if we get to hear both of them on the same beat.
