The Weeknd Kicks Off New Era With A New Teaser The Dawn is Coming

The Weeknd drops a new song teaser to kick off the new era “The Dawn is Coming”.

The New Era of The Weeknd has begun. A few days ago, the Toronto artist cleared his IG, signaling at a new era, like he does every time before kicking off the campaign for a new album. A couple of months ago at the Billboard Music Awards, The Weeknd teased the new era as he said, “I just want to say, the After Hours are done, and the dawn is coming. I’d like to thank God that I don’t have to wear that red suit anymore.” After tweeting, “f**k it … IT STARTS TONIGHT,” The Weeknd has teased a new song with a trailer called “The Dawn is Coming“.

The computer-animated video features a landscape with a vivid orange sky and the sun rising over the horizon, all set to a decidedly ’80s-sounding beat in line with The Weeknd’s most recent successes.

The Weeknd also updated his Social Media Profile picture and posted a new image of him rocking a black suit. Over the past few days, Abel has been teasing the new era with tweets like, “the countdown has begun… in my head” and “say your final goodbyes…

So now it’s officially the end of the record-breaking “After Hours” album era after one and a half years.

Following his performance in the Adam Sandler film “Uncut Gems,” The Weeknd released his previous, similarly ’80s-inspired album After Hours in March 2020. He headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2021, performing a big set of songs spanning his entire career.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd’s After Hours tour is set to begin in January 2022, after being postponed due to the pandemic, with stops in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Winnipeg, before heading to Toronto and Montreal in February.

Check out the new teaser below.
