Summer Walker releases the new song “Ex For A Reason” with JT.
After announcing it earlier this week, Summer Walker has kicked off the campaign for her new project as she released the first single called “Ex For A Reason“. The track features assistance from City Girls’ JT.
Summer Walker has announced her new album “Still Over It“, which is a follow-up & sequel to her 2019’s debut project “Over It“. She also shared an album trailer earlier this month. “Still over it” is a story…. And every story has its beginning!,” she wrote. Summer also revealed a couple of other tracks from the album, titled “Bitter” and “Ciara’s Prayer”, which will be narrated by Ciara herself.

Summer offered some background information on the new tune, as well as an imperfect timeline of when each song on the album was created, ahead of its release. Based on the schedules, it’s safe to assume that the forthcoming album will include at least 20 tracks.
On “Ex for a Reason,” Summer and JT both use their melodious melodies to implore listeners to take charge of their relationships and keep the negative energy from previous ones out. The smooth hook expresses these feelings: : “That b***h your ex (Your ex), for a reason, oh/ Reason, oh/ I don’t wanna know if she stay or don’t/ I don’t make ‘em do what she don’t.”
The last we heard from the Atlanta artist was back in January when she released a single called “Body“.
