Rod Wave releases the “Already Won” video with Lil Durk.
Rod Wave continues pushing his “SoulFly” album as he teams up with Lil Durk for the official video for their collaboration called “Already Won“. The song appeared on the deluxe version of his latest album which dropped last week. The original version of “SoulFly” dropped in March and topped the Billboard 200 with sales of 130k in the first week.
The new video follows up the previous one for “Time Heals” which was released last month. The video opens with a brief but terrifying speech from the Pray For Love singer, who discusses what drove him to pursue a career in music.
“When I was younger, I thought I wanted to be the biggest dope boy in the world,” he says. “All my friends and sh*t, dead and in prison. I understood that ain’t what I wanted to do.” From there, Rod Wave and Lil Durk rap in dimly lit locations, reflecting on the past, and the video alternates between their emotional performances and aesthetically beautiful recreations of Rod Wave’s childhood.
