Lil Nas X Releases Music Video For Thats What I Want

Lil Nas X drops the video for “Thats What I Want.”

Lil Nas X continues dropping new material as he releases the music video for his song called “Thats What I Want.” The track appeared on his debut album “MONTERO” which was released just a while ago. The project features guest appearances from Elton John, Megan Thee Stallion, Miley Cyrus, and Doja Cat. The video follows up his previous one, “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow.

The Stillz-directed music video shows Lil Nas as a football player, who gets injured and then makes out his fellow teammate in the locker room. They continue their romance outside in a camp. Next, we see two cowboys singing and playing guitar over a campfire before retreating to the tent for some late-night fun. In a nod to the film Brokeback Mountain, Lil Nas is getting ready to send flowers to his sweetheart when he discovers something startling while at home.

Absolutely devastated, 22-year-old X weeps and drinks himself to unconsciousness in his vehicle until finally finding salvation at the church, where Pose’s Billy Porter gifts him with a sacramental electric guitar. After being abandoned at the altar, the rapper — clad in a flowing white bridal gown — begins to shred while his mascara drips down his tear-stained face. Then it shows Nas in a wedding dress who walks down an aisle with tears in his eye.

He hilariously portrayed himself as pregnant in a number of social media posts leading up to the release of his album, including one in which he is dressed in a hospital gown and the song “Scoop” is playing in the background. He also appeared to be attending his baby shower alone, which was decorated with gifts from his album collaborators. Ahead of the release of the “That’s What I Want” video and Montero, he hosted The Montero Show, a talk show where bogus lawyer billboards advertising possible cash reward were shown.
