Usher Trends For Incredible NPR's Tiny Desk Concert Performance

Usher performed at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.

Usher was the latest guest at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series and the R&B legend trends on social media for the breathtaking performance. “I’m just hoping to really, really have fun today in this office party,” he said at the start of his performance.

The 43-year-old concludes the Black History Month with a six song set, with backing from Eric Bellinger, Vedo and a band. The “Yeah” hitmaker performed his songs “You Make Me Wanna…”, “Superstar”, “U Don’t Have to Call”, “Nice & Slow”, “Confessions Part II” and “My Way”.

“So, yeah, I’m going to release an album this year, hopefully, but now it’s just a matter of the timing, and what the name of the album is and all of that,” he added.

Before beginning the song, he thanked singer-songwriter Eric Bellinger, who acted as one of his support vocalists during the performance and developed the Usher-themed #SuperstarChallenge on social media, in which individuals are challenged to sing the song’s silky falsetto riff. “In this moment that we’ve had in life, we’ve had to find fun and connection in these devices that we have in our hands,” said Usher, adding that seeing Bellinger’s challenge take off was an “incredible moment.” “Being able to sing and just be joyous, there’s something about that that just ties us and brings us together.”

“never ever compare this man to these other r&b male singers — he is in a class of his own,” said a fan. “Usher Raymond IV is in a league of his own! The modern king of R&B!,” wrote another. “We talk about Pharrell’s anti-aging process all the time but Usher still has the cutest baby face.” “Usher saw these new male singers struggling and decided to embarrass them even more,” wrote another.
