Young Thug tops Billboard 200 with the latest album “PUNK”.
The first week numbers are in, and Young Thug’s latest album “PUNK” has earned him a top spot on Billboard 200. The project which was projected to move 85-90k in the first week sold 90,346 equivalent units in its debut week. Thugger was getting a tough competition from Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy“, which is in its seventh week. Drake’s CLB gets the number 2 spot on the charts, with 83k equivalent units.
Punk achieved 90,000 equivalent album units in the US in the week ending Oct. 21, with 77,000 SEA units (equaling 102 million on-demand streaming of the album’s tracks), 12,000 album sales, and 1,000 TEA units.
”Punk is just real life stories. The whole album is purified. It’s just real,” he said. “The whole album is just focused on one point. The hard part about this shit is making 12, 14, 16 songs about one thing, without crossing up and saying the same thing. That is why this shit takes time. This shit has been going on for two years now.”

The new album is Young Thug’s third number 1 project, after the YSL compilation album “Slime Language 2“, and the solo “So Much Fun” in 2019.

Mac Miller’s fan-favorite 2014’s mixtape “Faces” was also released on Streaming Platforms last week, and it earned the late rapper third spot on this week’s Billboard 200 chart with 67k units.
