Westside Gunn Says Griselda's Story Is Better Than Eminem and 50 Cent's

Westside Gunn compares Griselda’s story with Eminem & 50 Cent.

Westside Gunn recently appeared on The Joe Budden Podcast where he revealed that he has left Eminem’s Shady Records label and is a free agent now. On the show, Westside Gunn also talks about the possibility of Griselda’s Biopic which would be better than others, including Eminem and 50 Cent.

Westside Gunn confirmed that he is no longer signed to Eminem’s Shady Records during a recent visit on The Joe Budden Podcast. Joe Budden, Rory, and Mal were told by the founder of Griselda Records: “Um, I am off Shady. I am off Shady. I am actually a free agent. It feels great. Who Made The Sunshine album was it. I already spoke to Paul Rosenberg. Everything is good. Like, everything is signed, sealed, and delivered I have my paperwork like I’m off Shady.

“I am one of those type of dudes I am not no public talking ni**a. That is just how I move. It is like saying me and Benny or me and Conway or Conway and Benny or whoever, we might have a disagreement, but the world will never know. We still gonna be brothers and cousins. It is the same way even with business, because at the end of the day, this a big world. Even if somebody else is a sucka, I am never gonna play that sucka role.”

Westside Gunn and Conway announced their signing to Shady Records in March 2017, with Eminem applauding the duo in an official statement. Em commended Griselda Records, Gunn, and Conway, saying, “The style and energy of Griselda Records, Gunn and Conway are infectious,” praised Em. “We can’t wait to put them on the platform they have earned and deserve.” The news came as a shock, given Gunn and Conway were the label’s first signings since the formation of Shady 2.0, which includes Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf. Many fans were introduced to the gritty and established Griselda sound for the first time after going through both West and Conway’s huge back catalogs.

No disrespect to nobody but Griselda’s story is better than others,” says Westside Gunn. “Our story is way bigger than Marshall and Fifty and they have got movies. Conway got shot into head twice. We lost Machine Gunn. Ni**as were in prison. Ni**as are from eastside Buffalo. However, you wanna play it our story is better.
