Today Marks 20th Anniversary of Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP Album

Eminem’s third studio album “The Marshall Mathers LP” completed 21 years.

Today marks the 21st Anniversary of Eminem’s third studio album titled “The Marshall Mathers LP” which was released via Aftermath Entertainment, Interscope Records, and Eminem’s founded label, Shady Records. The project is one of the best works in his career and is considered to be the best album from his catalog. The album was mostly produced by Dr. Dre and Eminem himself.

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and remained there for eight weeks. The album sold 1.78 million copies in its first week, making it one of the fastest-selling studio albums in the United States, comparable to the release of The Slim Shady LP just a year before. “The Real Slim Shady,” “The Way I Am,” “Stan,” “I’m Back,” and “Bitch Please II” are among the album’s singles. Rolling Stone rated it the greatest album of 2000, among other publications.

“Bi*ch Please,” a song by Snoop Dogg featuring Nate Dogg and Xzibit from his fourth album, No Limit Top Dogg, is also known as “Trick Please” for the altered radio version, or “B**** Please” and “B Please” for clean versions. Dr. Dre and Phillip Atwell directed the song video. In addition to Dr. Dre and Eminem, a sequel song, “Bi*ch Please II,” was recorded for Eminem’s third studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP, and featured all prior performers.

The Grammy Award-winning album sold over 1.78 million copies in the US in its first week, which is still a record for any Hip-Hop album and the 4th highest sales in the first week in all genres. The 19 track album become certified Diamond in March 2011 for selling 10 million copies in the US and by December 2016, the project had sold over 11 million copies in the US and more than 32 million copies worldwide. Eminem also released the sequel to the album, ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2‘ on November 5, 2013. The sequel also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
