Spotify Reveals Most Streamed Artists, Songs & Albums of 2021

The Spotify Wrapped 2021 is here feat Drake, Kanye West and more.

As 2021 is coming to an end soon, music streaming platforms have started to unveil their year-end lists. The music giant Spotify has announced its top artists in various categories. Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican rapper have topped the list of Spotify’s most-streamed artist globally. He has over 9.1 billion streams despite not releasing a new album this year. Taylor Swift is ranked number 2, followed by BTS in third, The worldwide popular k-pop trio had a breakout year because to their track “Butter. Drake in fourth, who released Certified Lover Boy in September and Justin Bieber in whose 2021 album Justice includes collaborations with musicians from all across the world—takes fifth place.

Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” is the most streamed song globally, followed by Lil Nas X’s “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”. Olivia Rodrigo’s album “SOUR” is also the most-streamed album on the globe. Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” album is ranked number 2, followed by Justin Bieber’s “Justice” on third.

In the USA, The Toronto Rap star Drake is the most streamed artist of 2021, followed by Taylor Swift on second, the late rapper Juice WRLD on third. Olivia Rodrigo takes the fourth slot once more, this time with “good 4 u,” which was also named 2021 Spotify Song of the Summer. Dua Lipa’s “Levitating (feat. DaBaby)” is the sixth most streamed song to climb the charts. Ye, formerly known as Kanye West also among the top 5 as he is featured on number 4th. Just like globally, Olivia Rodrigo also topped the album and songs list in the US.

The stream kept tabs of the most well-liked songs from 20 years ago or earlier. Rumors by Fleetwood Mac, Nevermind by Nirvana, Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park, Appetite for Destruction by Guns N’ Roses, and The Beatles by The Beatles were the top five records. In terms of specific songs, we played to Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” which went popular on TikTok, then Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Coldplay’s “Yellow,” Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and The Police’s “Every Breath You Take.”
