Snoop Dogg Signed Benny The Butcher To Def Jam Label

Benny The Butcher signs deal with Def Jam Recordings.

Snoop Dogg, the creative consultant and executive of Def Jam, was the latest guest on Joe Rogan’s “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast for a new interview ahead of his upcoming album “Algorithm”. On the show, the Long Beach legend revealed that he has signed Griselda rapper Benny The Butcher to Def Jam Recordings.

“I’m on Def Jam Records right. I’m a creative consultant executive, and just to let you know that it don’t exist no more, I’m going to announce on your show that I just signed Benny The Butcher and he is one of the hardest rappers up out of Buffalo, New York,” Snoop said. “So that’s showing that there are no more lines to be crossed. We are doing what we’re supposed to be doing. The butcher’s coming.”

After the revelation, Benny The Butcher also confirmed the news through his social media with pictures of him signing deal papers. “A Buffalo ni**a the new face of The Legendary @defjam signed my major deal finally this for DJ Shay Griselda x B$F this is BIG,” he wrote. He thanked his family Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and other people who helped him in his career. In the comment section, Benny received support from Harry Fraud, Smoke DZA, Juicy J, E-40, Royce Da 5’9″, Big Sean, Lloyd Banks, N.O.R.E., 2 Chainz, and more.

Benny The Butcher also assisted Snoop Dogg on his latest single “Murder Music“, which also features Busta Rhymes and Jadakiss. On the Nottz-produced single, the iconic west coast rapper takes a backseat, only appearing on the hook, with guest rappers Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, and Busta Rhymes doing the most of the work. Busta issues a warning to his opponents on the tough-talking single: “I’m not an advocate for violence, but push me, I’ma push it further/ The script, hand on my hips, squeezin’ the grip a little firmer/ These dumb n***as don’t realise that it’s better to be a learner (Stupid ni-)/ When you don’t is when you get the feelin’ of burner.”

Following the release of last month’s single “Big Subwoofer,” which featured Snoop and was performed by the rap supergroup Mount Westmore (Snoop, Ice Cube, Too $hort, and E-40), comes “Murder Music.”

According to a press release, “Snoop Dogg Presents The Algorithm” is being promoted as a “all-encompassing new project that incorporates musicians from the iconic Def Jam label’s past, present, and future.”
“There’s so much talent on this record, so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm,” Snoop said in a statement. “Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”
