Royce Da 5'9 Shares Rare 1997 Live Performance Clip with Eminem

Royce Da 5’9″ gets nostalgic with a throwback live performance clip with Eminem from 1997.

Back when Royce Da 5’9″ wasn’t signed by a major label, he used to perform live at random shows in Detroit, sometimes with his good friend Eminem. Royce took to his social media to share a rare clip from one of the live shows from 1997, where he was sharing the stage with other half of Bad Meets Evil.

In 1997, I wore Iceberg because of Jay Z. I wore Cartier because of Detroit … I wore durags because of thin corners… @eminem would share his stage with me, tho most didn’t know me yet. Forever Grateful… Forever Loyal 🤞🏿 Forever #Shady,” he wrote in the caption.

A few months ago, Nickle revealed that he was going to do a deal with Herbie Love Bug, but Eminem stopped him and helped him connect with Dr. Dre. “I was about to do a deal with the legendary Herbie Love Bug but Marshall found out and called me,” wrote Royce. “He said “Nah Dog, with all due respect, you ain’t boutta do a deal with no Herbie Love Bug” He played my music for Dre that same day and told him the situation. Dre must’ve agreed with him because he called my mamma crib the next day and asked would I be interested in flying out to work with them on The Chronic 2001…. My loyalty to the Whiteboy will NEVER waver and THIS is just ONE of the MANY reasons 🤞🏿… Big Shout to Herbie tho… He’s a BIG KING👑 🌹

Even though Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″ often work together on each other albums and other collaborations, fans are still waiting for a sequel to their 2011 Bad Meets Evil project “Hell: The Sequel.”

Royce Da 5’9′′ will be featured in the spring 2020 edition of XXL. A sequel to Bad Meets Evil is possible, but that hasn’t happened yet because of the time it will take for Royce to sit down with the magazine. “I would love to make another Bad Meets Evil project. That is one of those things that it is whenever he feels ready… I can never mention Bad Meets Evil to him in a way where it is like, ‘Come on man, let’s do this!’ There are too many ways that can be taken. I kind of look at it like he graduated to a level where he can call when it is going to happen. We move on his accord when it comes to that.” says Royce.
