Rick Ross Quotes That Hip-Hop Accepts LGBTQ+ Rappers

Rick Ross says to all gay rappers to never give up on their dreams.

The issue of the LGBTQ+ community has been a huge conversation point among fans and musicians with the recent advent of gay hip-hop legends like Lil Nas X. Nas X believes that as a homosexual musician, he has never felt as welcomed or acknowledged as he should, but he also views himself as a pioneer who will lead to the emergence of many gay rappers in the future.

Saucy Santana, who debuted in late 2021 and early 2022 with his December Keep It Playa album, which included Rubi Rose and City Girls, as well as his early February song with Tay Money, is among the new generation of LGBTQ+ rappers.

Saucy Santana stated a few weeks ago that he especially enjoys his homosexual identity, and that he believes his activism would help elevate musicians in the LGBT community and empower individuals like him.

Rick Ross recently told Quentin Latham of FOX Soul that he encourages artists like Santana in pursuing their aspirations, despite not knowing who Saucy Santana was: “I’m not familiar with the name Santana. But live your life, chase your dreams and go hard man. Go hard.”

Rozay was also questioned if he thought his genre was tolerant of homosexual musicians, and despite the views of artists like Lil Nas X, Ross believed rap was welcoming of the LGBTQ+ community: “I believe hip-hop has already embraced it, without a doubt.”

Ross was questioned about the support Miami artists receive in compared to those in other places throughout the country. He explains, “Imma be honest. There’s nothing that I really want to lock into because I feel like Miami artists could be just as big as any artist in the world. What we gotta accept and realize is we so dope, we so unique, we do things that a lot of people take years to [do]. That vibe we have in Miami, in Carol City, in Liberty City, in Overtown, whatever it is, it’s such a unique vibe. It takes others many, many years to catch on to, but once they do, it’s priceless.”
