Rae Sremmurd Laughs At Being Called Better Duo Than OutKast

We often see today’s generation comparing their favourite artists with some of the greats of the music, and one such bizarre comparison was made by the fan of the duo of Rae Sremmurd. The user posted the picture of Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee and called them a greater duo than the legendary OutKast, the duo of Andre 3000 and Big Boi.

As expected, the tweet went viral and also reached the Mississippi duo of Jxmmi and Lee. Even Rae Sremmurd found it a hilarious comparison as they reshared the post with “Y’all gotta chill [laughing emoji].”

“I’m glad you have respect to address this comment. You’re an amazing duo but the other duo is a different animal, you guys are different in your own ways. I have followed your music since I heard it 2015. humble and talented af,” another tweeter replied.

Being one of the best rap duos of this generation, Rae Sremmurd were often gets compared to other hip-hop duos, and in a 2018 interview with NME, they addressed comparison to the duo of Andre 3000 and Big Boi. “Shout-out to OutKast man, they’re some originals in the game so you can never compare us [with them],” Slim Jxmmi said. “But I think that Rae Sremmurd are doing our own thing, in our own way, in our era of time and music. But OutKast is a great group and we really like them, you know what I’m saying?”

“I think the game is trying to turn us to some OutKast [comparisons], and there’s a lot of hate and hating on us going on because we’re doing our own thing and we’re in our own lane,” said Swae Lee. “They tried to turn Rae Sremmurd into OutKast and count us out, so we had to come out [with ‘SR3MM’] and remind them that, ‘Look, we’re here to stay.’”

Rae Sremmurd also teased that their new album, a follow up to 2018’s “SR3MM” is coming soon.

Rae Sremmurd has been continuously compared to André 3000 and Big Boi’s OutKast after joining to Mike Will Made-label It’s in 2013. Jxmmi and Swae addressed the issue in a 2018 interview with NME, shortly after the release of their SR3MM studio album.
