R. Kelly's Music Sales Increased By 500 Percent After Guilty Verdict

R. Kelly music sales increases after jail conviction in S*x Trafficking Trial.

A couple of weeks ago, the Chicago, Illinois R&B Singer R. Kelly was found guilty in the s*x trafficking, child exploitation and kidnapping case. The jury found Robert Sylvester Kelly guilty of all counts against him, including racketeering, and eight counts of violating the Mann Act, the anti s*x trafficking law. The singer will now face around a decade in prison, and his sentencing is on May 4, 2022.

On the second day of deliberations, a jury of seven men and five women convicted Kelly, 54, guilty of all nine counts, including racketeering. The retinue of managers and aides who helped Kelly meet females – and keep them compliant and quiet – was accused of being a criminal organisation, according to prosecutors. In a separate federal case pending in Chicago, two people have been charged with Kelly.

For crimes such as breaching the Mann Act, an anti-s*x trafficking law that bars transporting somebody across state lines “for any immoral purpose,” he may face decades in jail. The sentencing date has been set for May 4th.

But after his guilty verdict, R. Kelly gets a huge bump in his music sales. According to Rolling Stone, Kelly’s music streams saw double-digit growth, and his sales increased by triple-digit. From Sep 27 to Oct 3rd, R. Kelly’s on-demand audio streams were increased by 22 per cent, and video streams by 23 perfect, compared to the previous week. The music streams jumped from 11.2 million to 13.4 million, and his album sales were increased by 517 perfect.

Since the accusations against Kelly starting to pop up in the last few years, music streaming giants like Apple Music and Spotify “muted” his songs on curated playlists. Now after the guilty conviction, Youtube has also taken down R. Kelly’s two official channels, along with all the songs in it.
