NLE Choppa & Girlfriend Marissa Lost Their Child In A Miscarriage

NLE Choppa and his girlfriend Marissa reveal their son died in miscarriage.

Last year, NLE Choppa and his longtime girlfriend Marissa announced that they are expecting a baby boy, whom they named Seven Da’Shun Potts. However, the Memphis rapper and his girlfriend reveal devastating news that their son died in a miscarriage.

“Talking bout this is so hard,” she wrote. “But with Bryson [NLE Choppa] next to me and being my supporter, this has helped me more. Losing our Son is so hard for me, I couldn’t function. But he has pulled me through and I’m thankful to have you by my side and with me along this journey. There’s a lot of women who suffer the things I suffer and go through the same things I go through. So this also helps to open up and let other women know that they aren’t alone. Thank you for all the kind words we truly appreciate it. Thank you Seven, for helping mommy grow more into a better person, pushing me into being more healthier and being the reason for me to continue to fight. I love you and I truly do appreciate the time we spent growing together and bonding. You have truly gave mommy more hope. We love you baby. Seven Da’Shun Potts. #Forever7”

When Marissa went for her six months pregnancy check-up, she was shocked to learn that her baby was not at the expected birth weight. According to medical sources, by the sixth month, the baby should be around one pound. However, her baby, Seven, was only weighing two ounces and was diagnosed with a condition called fetal growth restriction (FGR).

Marrisa claimed the doctor proposed waiting until Seven was two pounds to see if he could have an early delivery and then keeping him in an incubator until he reached a healthy weight.

She later took to her IG story to appreciate all the supports she got, and said that one day she will be a mother. “I know that one day I’ll be able to have a healthy baby and be the mother I always dreamed of being. No matter how much this has hurt me. I have to continue to keep fighting. Thank you for all your kind words and I truly appreciate it. I’m gonna take a lil break again from social media but I truly appreciate it. Thank you guys.”

In a slew of since-deleted tweets from earlier this month, NLE Choppa claimed Mariah, the mom of his kid, was preventing him from his baby girl. “I’m posting to simply clear my name cause I feel it’s the narrative painted of me that ain’t true and it eats me up inside,” NLE wrote in another tweet. “Not for somebody to side with me or for views or a like I actually care about my character. A kid simply wanna be in his child life that’s it.”

The “Me vs Me” rapper also took to his social media to reveal the tragic news. “Seven Da’Shun Potts #FOREVER7 RIP My Lil One,” he wrote.

In a series of since-deleted tweets earlier this month, NLE Choppa accused his daughter’s mother, Mariah, of withholding him from his kid.
De’Nae was ecstatic about the pregnancy and kept her followers up to speed with regular updates, including “intimate” videos about their journey.

Choppa sees Marissa and their loss of their unborn child as a proof of their persistence even though they are both devastated. “I feel like God give you a struggle for a reason for you to have the strength to overcome it,” the rapper and herbalist explained. “If he feel he knew you couldn’t overcome whatever the obstacles is, he would not give it to you. I feel like this journey, this obstacle was one of those things.”

“I feel like it was more than meant to happen. I felt like it was more than divine to happen,” he continued. “What a lot of people don’t know, kids carry angels. Every kid. When you see kids playing with their imaginary friends it’s not their imagination, they are playing with angels. Every kid carries angels.”

In April 2023, Marissa Da’Nae announced that she is again pregnant with rapper’s child, but NLE Choppa had been there for her during the time. “I Really been trying to hold it down and keep it together,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “But I’m honestly just fed tf up. You constantly trying to holla at folks, take folks on dates and etc but you have failed to show up for your child!

“That YOU PAID FOR ME TO HAVE! You think because you may pay a doctor bill or send a few dollars for certain sh*t that changes the fact that you’re absent as f**k. I’ve had 31 appointments since we’ve placed our child in my stomach and you haven’t shown up to one.”

She continued: “You’re telling me, you don’t got no time for doctor’s appointments but you got time to wanna take folks on vegan dates? You got time to wanna continue to shoot your shot but not for your kid?? You got time to wanna fall in love with someone else.”

She added: “I accepted it for the moment but you’re telling me, you don’t got no time for doctor’s appointments but you got time to wanna take folks on vegan dates? You got time to wanna continue to shoot your shot but not for your kid?? You got time to wanna fall in love with someone else and age ain’t nothing but a number but you have not showed up for your child.”

Musically, Choppa released his second studio album “Cottonwood 2” this year, as a sequel to his 2019 EP. The 22-track EP featured appearances from Kevin Gates, Polo G, G Herbo, Queen Naija, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Fivio Foreign and more.

“I’m just trying to be versatile,” he said. “I’m trying to make sure that I can tap into any sound, any mood and any genre. I want it to be whole, I want it to be the most versatile version of myself and I feel like I accomplished that.”
