Nicki Minaj Takes Shots At Kanye West During Essence Festival We Don't Fk With Clowns

Nicki Minaj seemingly disses Kanye West during Essence Festival.

Nicki Minaj was the headliner on the first day of Essence Festival 2022, but the fans left disappointed when her performance wasn’t telecasted on the streaming app Hulu. Nicki Minaj kicked off her delayed set with the Lil Baby assisted “Do We Have A Problem?”, followed by “We Go Up”, “Beez in the Trap” and others.

When the DJ played the music for her Kanye West collaboration “Monster”, Minaj stopped the performance to seemingly take shots at the Donda Rapper. “A monster though,” she said. “A monster though… But we don’t f**k with clowns.”

The Pink Friday hitmaker then brought out her longtime collaborators and friend Birdman and Lil Wayne. She then performed “#1 Stunna”, “Seeing Green,” “High School,” “Truffle Butter” and more tracks with them.

The shots at Ye could be in response to the rapper recently collaborating with Cardi B on the single called “Hot Sh*t” which also featured Lil Durk. Kanye West’s “Monster” was released as part of his fifth studio album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” in 2010, and featured Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver along with Nicki Minaj.

At Essence Fest, the surprises continued. In honour of the Fugees’ 1996 album The Score, Wyclef Jean performed live versions of “Killing Me Softly,” “Ready Or Not,” “How Many Mics,” and “Fu-Gee-La” with Lauryn Hill in the band.

In addition to Lucky Daye, Jazmine Sullivan, Summer Walker, The Roots and Friends, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and others, Essence Fest will continue on Sunday, July 3, with performances.
