Nicki Minaj Makes Spotify History With New Single Super Freaky Girl

Nicki Minaj earns new record with “Super Freaky Girl”.

Nicki Minaj made her return with the highly anticipated new single “Super Freaky Girl“, which she had been teasing throughout this month. The song is produced by Dr. Luke & Malibu Babie, and features vocals from Rick James sampling his iconic 1981 hit, “Super Freak.”

The first-day numbers for the single are out now, and the Pink Friday hitmaker makes history on Spotify Charts. The song was streamed 3.021 times on the first day on Global Spotify, which is the biggest debut for a solo female rap song in Spotify history.

In addition to a record-breaking Spotify debut, “Super Freaky Girl” had global success on iTunes by taking the top place on the charts in the United States and Canada and making it into the Top 100 in a number of other nations, including Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

Just recently, it was announced that Nicki Minaj will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, which is set to take place on August 28. “I’m receiving the Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 #VMAs!” Monday, she said in an ecstatic Instagram post. “You DO NOT !!!! I REPEAT!!!! You do NOTTTTTT want to miss my performance.”

Minaj continued her chart success in 2023 as her Ice Spice collab “Barbie World” debuted at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Nicki Minaj now becomes the rap artist with the third most top 10 hits in Billboard Hot 100 history. Barbie World earned Minaj her 23rd top 10 hit, which is third most after her good friends and long-time collaborators Drake with 68, and Lil Wayne with 25. Fourth on the list is a tie between Eminem and JAY-Z with 22. In the overall list, Nicki Minaj is now the female artist with sixth-most top 10 hits in Hot 100 history.
