Nicki Minaj reacts to the tragic Russia-Ukraine situation.
Ukraine is currently at war as Russia invaded the country after the years-long tension between the two nations. The casualty number is going high with over 100 Ukrainian civilians died, along with several hundereds injured. Vladimir Putin, who ordered Russian nuclear forces to stay on high alert, is getting flak all over social media, and also getting reactions from hip-hop artists, including Nicki Minaj.
The “Pink Friday” artist took to his Twitter to pray for the Ukrainian people. “Saw footage of bombs dropping & in the background u could hear children screaming. When I tell u it broke my heart into pieces? …To every mother fleeing w|your children, saying goodbye 2 your husband…I can’t imagine how afraid & alone you must feel. God, pls help them,” she wrote in a tweet.
Last week, Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine, and the battle has escalated in the days after. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared on Sunday that he has agreed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Belarusian border “without preconditions.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin raised the alert level on his military’s nuclear deterrent forces over the weekend, citing “aggressive remarks” from the West.
