Nicki Minaj impresses everyone with an incredible Adele impression.
Nicki Minaj finally made her long due return to the music scene as she linked up with Lil Baby for a new single “Do We Have A Problem?“. The “Pink Friday” rapper had been on the promo run throughout this week, and he latest stop was at James Corden’s The Late Late Show. The host brought up the clip of Adele’s 2017 Carpool Karaoke, where the “Eazy On Me” singer performed Nicki Minaj’s part from Kanye West’s “Monster”.
After showing her the clip, Corden asked Nicki if she can do an Adele impression. “All right, in order for me to channel Adele, I sort of have to think like a Black lady in London, right?” Minaj told the audience with Adele’s accent, facial expressions and hand gestures. “Because the thing is, normally, everybody knows… my British accent is sort of like a posh white lady. A rich white lady, right? But with Adele, I sort of have, like, to transform.”
“That’s what I see when I see her. … It’s so expressive, right?” she said. Nicki Minaj revealed that Adele’s “Monster” performance made her year, “I probably got a thousand phone calls about that one thing.”
It’s well worth your time to watch the video below. It’s absolutely accurate. In the footage, she also addressed reports that her and 50 Cent were working on a film together, which Corden praised her on. “I didn’t say in the works, I said in conversations,” she remarked, emphasising the potential.
