“For years, Metro Boomin has protected the city from the unrelenting threat of evil,” says Freeman at start of the film. “With the light of the Boomanati headquarters, once a beacon of hope, has gone dark. In Metro’s absence, villains rise from the shadows.”

“Heroism isn’t about earning accolades or even defeating villains, it’s choosing to risk everything for the people, expecting nothing in return — we all know the city loves its legends, but tonight they need a hero. Which one do you want to be?” “You know what they say if Young Metro don’t trust you, motherf**ker you better run.”

The film also features a message of “Free YSL”, along with new music teasers of 21 Savage, Chris Brown, Future and more.

After being delayed from its planned November launch date owing to copyright sample clearance concerns, Heroes & Villains is now scheduled for release on Friday. The project comes after Metro’s solo debut, Not All Heroes Wear Capes, from last year.

The video, directed by Gibson Hazard, begins with a burning fire house and ends with the wicked Lakeith Stanfield fleeing the scene in a stolen fire truck. Gunna and Young Thug appear as news anchors covering the crime. When Freeman emerges with Young Metro to offer an inspiring speech to inspire the director to go save the day, it looks like everything is lost.

The new album “Heroes & Villains” earned Boomin the biggest week of his career, as it moved 185,000 equivalent album units. The project debuted at #1 with 233.38 million on-demand streams, with 5,000 pure sales.
