Math Hoffa talks about helping Benzino during Eminem beef.

Math Hoffa, an elite battle rapper from Brooklyn, New York City, recently had a YouTube livestream in which he discussed his reaction when he first heard Eminem and DMX. Math Hoffa, the battle rapper and the podcast host recently did a live stream where he talked about the time when he helped Benzino during his beef with the detroit rapper, as he wrote a verse for him but later stepped back.

“When I met Benzino he was getting that drama with Marshall,” says Math Hoffa. “Benzino heard me rap. I did ‘Rock The Party’ remix and all that s**t. When he got into Eminem s**t, he called me up and I wrote a verse for Eminem [diss]. I was hyped. I still have my personal morals. When I saw how far things were going I felt back cause I was like ‘I don’t really have problems with Eminem. I was like ‘I ain’t gonna lie I actually like Eminem…More than Benzino as far as raps.’

Math Hoffa may not be as well-known commercially as some of his contemporaries, but he is still well-liked in the community. Hoffa, who is well-known for his abilities as a battle rapper, has been doing his thing for years and has become something of a legend in New York City’s streets. After his fight with Method Man, Hoffa became a viral sensation on the internet. During the duel, Math’s bars revealed to those who doubted him that he has the talents to compete with the greatest.

Fight club executives were impressed by Hoffa’s performance in the film that they decided to set up a fight between him and Serius Jones in 2005, albeit he is credited with losing the fight according to a judge’s judgement at Fight Klub. Math caught the attention of SMACK DVD, who set together a battle with Philadelphia battle rapper Dose after racking up four consecutive victories at Fight Klub, including a bodying of Nems. Math Hoffa’s career would be defined by this bout, which cemented his reputation as a “bully” in the Battle Rap scene.

Then he revealed his reaction when he first time heard the legendary Detroit MC. “First time I heard Eminem I didn’t even know he was white. I was like ‘yo, this ni**a’s nice.’ I was like ‘OHOOOO WHO IS THIS NI**A?

Given that this is the tune Math Hoffa cited, which is pretty close to the original, it appears that the first Shady song Math heard was his unreleased Bad Meets Evil collaboration with Royce da 5’9, “Scary Movies”:
The one man on the planet that’ll drive off of the Grand Canyon
Hop out of a Grand Am and land in it handstandin’

Then he went on to talk about the legendary DMX who recently passed away. Watch his live stream below.
