Freddie Gibbs announces his new album.

Fresh off the release of ‘Big Boss Rabbit‘ a few days ago, Freddie Gibbs features as the Cover Star of Mixmag‘s Issue 360. In his interview, he talked about his GRAMMY nomination for ‘Alfredo‘ with The Alchemist, his past life, and much more.

If you’re gonna lose to somebody, you’re gonna want to lose to Nas. Nas is a hall of fame MC. If anything it just shows how great I am to lose to such an MC. I could’ve lost to Macklemore or something,” said Gibbs on his Grammy loss.

Freddie Gibbs also revealed the list of producers that will contribute to his next album. “It’s [SSS] another album of the year,” he says. “I’m about to go and work with Pharrell next week. Madlib, Working On Dying, The Alchemist, Sevn Thomas, Hit-Boy, I just talked to Mike Will Made-It. It’s gonna be the best-produced album that I ever made.

Gibbs defended his disputed claim that he is the finest to ever rap over a Madlib track, but showed admiration for MF DOOM‘s time with the Beat Konducta. “Rest in peace to MF DOOM. I feel like he gave me the measuring stick. He set the tone. When I was making Piñata, everyone was talking about how he did the best sh*t and you know the competitor in me wanted to make the better album,” Gibbs told Mixmag.

Update: Gibbs teased what appears to be a single from SSS. Gibbs said that “Black Illuminati” starring Jadakiss will be released tonight at midnight, complete with a Simpsons-themed video and a musical preview.
