Lloyd Banks Reveals Artwork & Tracklist For The Course of the Inevitable Album

Lloyd Banks unveils the cover art and tracklist for “The Course of the Inevitable”.

Lloyd Banks, the former G-Unit member is all set to drop his new album “The Course of the Inevitable” on June 4 and today he decided to unveil the official artwork and the tracklist. Following the release of a trailer last week, Lloyd Banks reveals the cover art which features his son Christopher Lloyde III.

The tracklist features 18 tracks with guest appearances from Benny The Butcher, Vado, Styles P, Ransom, and more. Anthony Geathers, the photographer who shot the picture for Cover Art, wrote on his IG, “Yea, I photograph artwork for album covers too. For @lloydbanks and his team to put their trust and faith in me to create this photograph for his brand new album is the greatest honor for me as a black man and a fellow New Yorker who grew up on his music since high school. Every moment in this blood and sweat filled journey has led to this right here. Even on a socio-political level, to see black men dispelling that myth that black men are not in their kids’ lives, this was a project that was personal to me to photograph. We often hear that bullsh*t, and its far from the truth. From the first time a black man put a camera in my hand in grade school to right now. It aint over though. I got alot of work to get done.

It’s his first full-length studio album since H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2) (2010), and his first after leaving G-Unit Records in 2018.

Since April, Lloyd Banks has teased the acronym C.O.T.I., but the meaning was ultimately disclosed towards the end of his album video. Rashan Brown offers spoken word over black and white imagery of New York City, including pictures of a Big L mural, throughout the video.

“We have never known life without struggle or peace without war,” he says. “We have been simply faded in our own existence. But what do we say to the people who fear the choices they’ll have to make without any bit of guidance in this world? As if they already don’t have a sense of direction.

On May 21, 2021, a complete three-minute trailer would be published, not only including a longer spoken-word monologue by Brown over the same piano backdrop (which would become the music for the album track “Sidewalks”), but also revealing the album’s entire title.

Banks unveiled the album’s cover image and tracklist on Instagram on May 25, 2021. On June 1, three days before the album’s release, the tracklist was amended with a Freddie Gibbs appearance on the song “Empathy.”

Update: Lloyd Banks’ fourth studio album, The Course of the Inevitable, was released independently on June 4, 2021 through Money by Any Means, Inc. The Course of the Inevitable opened at number 84 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, selling 12,000 copies in its first week. The album debuted at number 9 on the R&B Albums chart in the United Kingdom.

His previous studio album, H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2), was released in 2010, and The Course of the Inevitable will be his first effort since 2016’s Halloween Havoc 3: Four Days of Fury. In January, he released “Element of Surprise,” which was featured on the soundtrack for the Griselda Records film CONFLICTED.
