Lil Wayne Reveals Drake's Verses Makes Him Re-Write His Own

Lil Wayne rewrote his verses many times while working with Drake.

Last week, Lil Wayne’s iconic “Tha Carter IV” turned 10 and he has been celebrating the milestone throughout this week. Tunechi recently held a Q&A session with the fans on Twitter in celebration of his album. In one of the questions, Lil Wayne was asked if he ever rewrote his verse after hearing one from his collaborators.

Lil Wayne then praises his long-time collaborator and former Young Money labelmate Drake. “It’s the same person every time, and that person is Drake,” he says. “Everything Drake sends back, I always have to go back and re-record. It’s always too hot. It’s always because he says something at the end that make me be like, ‘Oh, I could make more of the song and capitalize on what he just said.’ I have changed my verse a billion times because of Drake and that’s always the person.

He continues, “It’s always because he says something that sounds a whole lot more interesting and more unique and I feel like we need to capitalize on whatever the hell he said.” On “Tha Carter IV”, Drake was also featured on the song called “She Will” which was one of the fan-favorite.

The No Ceilings rapper is presently working on three albums, according to Young Money President Mack Maine. “Anybody that’s like a Wayne fan, they know that I Am Not A Human Being III is up, coming up soon,” Maine said. He then hinted that the two other projects were collaborative albums. “Wayne and Rich the Kid have a project together that’s coming out soon,” he added.

Wayne also stated that he will be releasing new songs shortly as the Q&A session came to a close. “I Ain’t Sh*t Without y’all!!! Gotta get bak to in this booth!! New musik bomin soon,” he tweeted on Wednesday (Sept. 1).

Drizzy and Weezy’s mutual adoration has been well known. Drake went out of his way to laud Wayne on Instagram in August, responding to a post from Tidal’s Chief Content Officer Elliott Wilson with a list of reasons why Wayne is “the most unselfish artist ever.”

Lil Wayne also promotes Drake’s upcoming album “Certified Lover Boy” with the hashtag on his answer.
