Joe Budden praises Kanye West’s “DONDA”.
Kanye West’s new album “DONDA” is out now and it’s breaking all sorts of records on streaming platforms. There have been mixed reactions from fans and critics for the long-delayed project. Radio personalities like Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy had some harsh words for the album, as well as for Ye. Now the Rapper turned podcast host Joe Budden also gives his opinion on Kanye West’s new project “DONDA”.
Joe Budden praised the project, which surprised everybody, as he was very critical of Kanye in the past. “I love it,” says Budden about the DONDA. “So genius. It’s brilliant.” He was also asked to give points out of 10, to which Joe says. “8.5. It’s 8.5. It’s a masterpiece.”

Kanye West’s new star-studded project featured guest appearances from Jay-Z, The Lox, Young Thug, Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, the late Pop Smoke, Jay Electronica, Ty Dolla Sign, Baby Keem, Chris Brown, Fivio Foreign, and more.
Budden’s comments contrast sharply with what co-hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy of The Breakfast Club had to say about Donda. Charlamagne Tha God revealed his reception to the project was lukewarm during Monday’s (August 30) “Rumor Report” alongside fellow co-host Angela Yee. “I listened to it yesterday,” he said. “I don’t know if it’s lackluster or too long, maybe both. Upon first listen, for me, it was kind of lackluster and long. An hour and 48 minutes is nuts. Even without all the part twos on there, it’s just still too long and it gets exhausting. And the music, to me, sounds kind of dated.”
Meanwhile, DJ Envy added, “He is a clown and a circus. He is a clown and circus, and I’m ashamed of the people around him — Bu [Thiam], Free, Pusha, Monopoly … he is a clown. And if you don’t get your guy together — like Charlamagne said seven years ago, when he came up here and said, ‘The people around you don’t love you.’ And Kanye, the people around you don’t love you. You are a clown.”
