Lil Tjay Is Undergoing Emergency Surgery After Being Shot In New Jersey

Lil Tjay reportedly gets shot in New Jersey last night.

Lil Tjay is undergoing emergency surgery after getting shot multiple times last night. According to TMZ, the Bronx rapper was shot in Edgewater, New Jersey at midnight last night, and he was the victim of the double shooting.

The double shooting happened at nearby places, a Chipotle restaurant and an Exxon gas station, and the rapper was one of two people injured last night. The victim at the Chipotle restaurant was shot several times and the victim at the Exxon was shot once.

The Bergen County, N.J. Prosecutor’s Office has released a statement regarding the shooting which involved the rapper Lil Tjay. “The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Edgewater Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred at 14 The Promenade, Edgewater, NJ on Wednesday, June 22, 2022,” the statement reads. “At approximately 12:08 a.m. on June 22, the Edgewater Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at that address. Responding officers found a 22-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers also responded to the Exxon Station located at 478 River Road, Edgewater, where they located another 22-year-old victim with a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where they are being treated.”

Though no identities were disclosed, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Edgewater Police Department both issued a brief statement Wednesday morning, referring to the same occurrence. It was said at the time that “further details” will be released soon.


Just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office tweeted that “per initial investigation, [the shooting] does not appear to be a random act and one victim improved from critical to stable condition.” Others who were in good health and with non-life-threatening injuries were admitted to the hospital.


The official video for Tjay and Kaash Paige’s well-received collaboration, “24 Hours,” was released last month. Additionally, he just released the solo track “Goin Up” video.
