Lil Baby Makes Billboard Top R&BHip Hop Chart History With My Turn Album

Lil Baby’s “My Turn” achieves more success on Billboard charts.

While we’re waiting for Lil Baby’s new album “It’s Only Me” which will arrive in less than two weeks, the rapper continues to achieve new accolades on Billboard.

The 4PF leader is celebrating the big accomplishment while also getting ready to release new music this month. Lil Baby has been previewing the release of It’s Only Me, the follow-up to the wildly popular My Turn album from 2020. He also released a brand-new song titled “Heyy,”.

The Atlanta rapper’s second studio album “My Turn” has now spent more than 100 weeks inside the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top R&B/ Hip-Hop Albums chart. The record was previously held by Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” project which spent a total of 89 inside the Top 10. My Turn now becomes the only album with the most weeks inside the top 10, since the R&B/Hip-Hop album chart came into existence in 1965.

The album was released on February 28, 2020, with guest features from Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Future, Gunna, Lil Uzi Vert, Moneybagg Yo and more. Tay Keith, Quay Global, Section 8, Twysted Genius, Hit-Boy, DJ Paul, Murda Beatz, and Wheezy were among some of the high-rated producers who made the sounds of the album a hit.

Boosted by five singles “Woah”, “Sum 2 Prove”, “Emotionally Scarred”, “All In”, and “The Bigger Picture”, the project debuted at #1 on US Billboard 200 with 197,000 album-equivalent units in the first week. In February 2021, the album received triple platinum certification from RIAA.

My Turn entered number one on the US Billboard 200 in the first week, with 197,000 album-equivalent units (including just under 10,000 pure album sales), making it Lil Baby’s first US number-one album. The release of My Turn, 12 tracks from the album peaked on the US Billboard Hot 100, giving Lil Baby a career total of 47 singles on the list, tying him with Prince and Paul McCartney.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded My Turn quadruple platinum status for overall sales and album-equivalent units of more than four million in the US. My Turn, which sold 40,000 physical copies and 2.632 million album-equivalent units in the US, was the most-listened-to album of 2020.
