Kodak Black calls out AMAs over favourite hip-hop song.
Kodak Black’s last year hit “Super Gremlin” has been one of the top hits in the past year, but the rapper’s song failed to bring any awards.
The song was nominated for favourite hip-hop song at American Music Awards 2022 and has been leading in votes for the past couple of months, but it lost to Future, Drake & Tems number 1 hit “Wait For U“. “My Sh*t Been In The Lead For Bout 2 Months , All A Sudden They Give My Sh*t Away TODAY ! SMH I JUST KNEW I WON [Sad Emoji],” he wrote on his Social Media.
The other songs nominated in the category were Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow’s “Industry Baby”, Latto’s “Big Energy” and Jack Harlow’s “First Class”.

“Super Gremlin” reached its top position on the Billboard Hot 100 during its time there. The song received a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in February 2022. Similar to “Super Gremlin,” it missed out on the BET Awards’ Song Of The Year title. Black then demanded that the platform be boycotted. “This whole sh*t looked like a damn plot,” he said afterward at the time. “They probably hollerin’ at BET, like don’t give him that sh*t. I told [people] weeks ago. Watch they finna play with me and give it to Frappuccino.”
Last month, the Florida rapper also took shots at BET after losing the song of the year to Latto’s “Big Energy”. “The Woman Empowerment Sh*t Kool,” Kodak wrote. “Don’t Take Nun From Nobody But You Still Gotta Work For It! Don’t Jus Simply Give It To Somebody Kuz They A Woman !!!!! If That’s The Case Y’all Shoulda Gave Song Of The Year To Glorilla Not That Hating A*s Mutt.”
