Jay-Z, Jadakiss, and Conway The Machine are linking up for “The Harder They Fall” Soundtrack.
A Soundtrack for the new “The Harder They Fall” movie is releasing later this week, and it is revealed that Film’s co-producer Jay-Z contributed with more than one song. Previously, in the trailer of the movie, a Jay-Z and Kid Cudi joint was teased, and now comes a snippet of another new track. In this track, Jay-Z will join forces with The Lox’s Jadakiss, Griselda’s Conway The Machine, and BackRoad Gee. Their collaboration is titled “King Kong Riddim.”
Netflix’s “The Harder They Fall” is a western all-black film, which stars Idris Elba, Jonathan, Zazie Beetz, Lakeith Stanfield, and more. The movie will release on Netflix on October 29th, along with the star-studded soundtrack.
Jeymes Samuel, the director of the film recently talked about Jay-Z in a new interview with GQ. “Me and Hov are always cooking music. But most of the stuff we go back and forth on is film,” he said. “And it has always been that way. We have big debates over Scarface. I go, ‘wasn’t the nicest guy.’ But Jay-Z and James Lassiter will break it down like ‘Jeymes, he was cool. He told guys, no women, no kids.’ Jay is the proper cinephile. [raps the first line to Jay-Z’s ‘Heart of the City’] ‘First the Fat Boys break up, now everyday I wake up…’ That comes from Boomerang, Chris Rock in the mailroom. It’s a thing that has run through his entire career, film.”
He was asked if the collab happened before Jadakiss’ insane summer, especially the VERZUZ event. “Oh, let’s just say it was part of the insane summer,” said Samuel. “Let’s call it serendipitous. Jay, we’ve always collaborated. We go back to collaborating with Jay Electronica. And Jay and I did the Great Gatsby together. So working with Jay is literally like breathing.”
