The home invader David Hughes told Eminem he was there to kill him.

In court on Wednesday, a police officer who attended an April home invasion at Eminem’s property in Michigan testified that the invader informed the rapper he planned to murder him. On the night of April 5 after an alleged home invasion by the name of Matthew David Hughes to Detroit Mansion of Eminem. During a preliminary examination in Macomb County District Court, officer Adam Hackstock Said, “When Mr. Mathers asked him why he was there, he was told by Mr. Hughes that he was there to kill him,”.

Mathers said he awoke to a man standing behind him, mistaking him for his nephew before realizing he was an invader, according to Adam Hackstock, a Clinton Township police officer.

Hughes has been in custody since the incident, charged with 1st degree home invasion and malicious destruction of property. Mr. Mathers was not in court Wednesday, but his attorney watched the proceedings via video.

Officer Adam Hackstock said he talked with Eminem regarding the incident and found that Eminem said he escorted Hughes through a TV area, game room, and basketball court to an exit of the house. Also, Hughes not carrying any weapons said the Officer. Hughes is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

Hughes, according to prosecutors, is homeless. Richard Glanda, the suspect’s court-appointed attorney, suggested that his client may be suffering from “mental difficulties.”
