Halle Berry Calls Cardi B the Queen of Hip-Hop

Halle Berry praises Cardi B for contributing to “Bruised”.

Later this month on November 24th, a new Halle Berry starrer movie called “Bruised” will hit the streaming platform Netflix. The film previously had the world premiere at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival. Along with starring in it, Halle Berry also directed the sports drama film.

For the official soundtrack of the film, Halle Berry enlisted Cardi B, whom she called the “Queen of Hip-Hop”. During the premiere event of the film on Saturday, Berry said, “I reached out to Cardi b because she’s the Queen of Hip hop.”

At MTV’s 2021 Europe Music Awards on Sunday night, model Winnie Harloe called Nicki Minaj “the one and only Queen of Hip Hop,” which seems a reference to Halle Berry’s comment about Cardi B. While the fans started arguing about who’s the best, Cardi B asked her fans to watch the new movie.

“I know how some of you girls like to tussle over this typa childish sh*t… but ntm on Halle Berry,” he tweeted. “Anyway her movie #BRUISED dropping THAT SHE DIRECTED HERSELF on Netflix on November 24th. The FIRST female rap movie soundtrack!! we produced together out this FRIDAY!”

The two stars teamed up for a piece dubbed ‘5 Rounds,’ in which they answered tense questions about their personal lives. Cardi adds in the video that she had an ex-boyfriend who used to steal from her, which inspired a lyric in her hit song WAP. She said that she had dated a not-so-famous celebrity and that several well-known celebrities have slid into her DMs in the past.

The “Bruised” film is about a disgraced MMA fighter (Halle Berry) who finds redemption in the cage and the courage to face her demons when the son she had given up as an infant unexpectedly reenters her life.
