Eminem Earns Verse Of The Month Crown For Realest Feature

Genius honours Eminem with the verse of the month for the “Realest” track with Ez Mil.

In August, Eminem finally made his return to the music as he provided his first verse of 2023 with a feature on Ez Mil’s track “Realest“. The Filipino-American rapper is the latest signee of Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records.

As always, the Detroit rapper dropped the fiery verse, where he addressed his critics, and ongoing things in hip-hop. For the feature, lyrics platform Genius has now crowned the rapper for verse of the month August. “last month was a hot one and things definitely heated up after @eminem dropped his verse on @ezekielmiller’s song “realest,” which is why we crowned him with #verseofthemonth for august 2023,” they wrote.

In his verse, Eminem dissed his critics like The Game, Melle Mel and Gen-Z. “And that is the only retort, is I’m not played in the clubs / Motherf–ker, put a cork in it / Only reason they still play your sh-t in the clubs / Is ’cause you still perform in ’em,” raps Eminem in response to Game.

“I am a guest in this house but I turned this bi–h to a mansion / That’s an expansion, made it gargantuan / England, Germany, France and Japan’s in this bi–h / Even Dubai, because my music, they do buy,” he raps.

The Lose Yourself emcee took aim at Melle Mel, who recently stated that Eminem is only top 5 because he’s white. “But when they say that I’m only top five / ‘Cause I’m white, why would I be stunned? / My skin color still workin’ against me / ‘Cause second I should be to none / Being white ain’t why they put me at top five / It’s why they can’t put me at one,” he raps.

Just recently, Eminem and his record label Shady Records announced the signing of Ez Mil as their newest addition. Ez Mil, the 25-year-old Filipino-American descent rapper, also signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. This makes Ez Mil the first rapper since 50 Cent in 2002 to sign with all three labels simultaneously. Ez Mil’s signing was revealed with a photo of him alongside Eminem and Dr. Dre.

The Detroit rapper publicly expressed his excitement about signing Ez Mil to his label, and shared a link to Mil’s video for the song “Up Down (Step & Walk),” stating that this was the song that convinced him to add Ez Mil to the Shady Records roster.
