The National party is being sued by Eminem over using his music for its election Ed. the Song Eminem’s Oscar winning hit ‘Lose yourself’.

music used in its campaign advertisements copyright. National party Spokesperson says they already changed the song two weeks Ago.he says there’s no merit in the publisher’s claim and national happy to fight them in court.

UPDATE:  Eminem’s legal battle with the National Party is set to head to court next week.The chart-topping US MC is suing National for allegedly using his track ‘Lose Yourself’ in its election campaign ads without permission. The National Party has Directly Dropped the allegation, with campaign manager Steven Joyce saying in September he thought the use of the song was “pretty legal”.

We think these guys are just having a crack and have a bit of an eye for the main chance because it’s an election campaign,” he told reporters at the time.

Eminem’s Detroit-based publishers Eight Mile Style and the National Party will have their first date in court in the High Court at Wellington next Friday, it’s been confirmed.Eight Mile Style is seeking damages for copyright Violation.

UPDATE: May 2017 court date has been set for Eminem’s publishers, who are suing the National Party over the use of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”.
