Drake Postpones Young Money Reunion Show After Being Tested Covid Positive

Drake reveals he tested positive for Covid.

As announced last month, Drake was performing at a three-day concert called “October World Weekend”, as a road to the OVO fest’s 10th anniversary. After performing in Toronto featuring All Canadian North Stars on July 28, Chris Brown and Lil Baby on July 29, Drizzy was supposed to take the stage today with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj as a Young Money Reunion, but it has now been postponed.

The rapper took to his social media to reveal that he has tested positive for Covid, and today’s show is being rescheduled. “I am truly devastated to say that I tested positive for Covid and the Young Money Reunion show scheduled for tonight is being rescheduled to the SOONEST date possible. I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked. Until then hope everyone stays safe and healthy and I love you all I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give everything I got on stage (except the Covid),” he wrote with a crying emoji on his IG story.

Before Drake had to call off the Young Money reunion, October World Weekend got off to a brilliant start. The event began on Thursday (July 29) with the All Canadian North Stars performance at Toronto’s HISTORY, where Drizzy invited Canadian music icons like Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates, and surprise guest Nelly Furtado.

The three-day October World Weekend festival in Toronto intends to celebrate Drake’s OVO Fest’s tenth anniversary and provide a sneak peek of the festival’s 2023 international run. The flashy weekend of shows this year comes after the rapper had another successful year.

With the release of Honestly, Nevermind last month (on July 2), Drake achieved his 11th consecutive No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart. When “Jimmy Cooks,” featuring 21 Savage, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Drake became the artist with the most top 5 singles ever.
