DJ Khaled is the latest artist to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star.
As announced, DJ Khaled becomes the latest artist to be honoured by the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was presented the star at the 6200 block of Hollywood Boulevard on Monday, and several high profile guests attended the event, including Jay-Z, Fat Joe, Diddy, Jeezy, N.O.R.E, Teyana Taylor and more. It is reported that his star is number 2,719 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“When I met him, he made me move out of New York to Miami,” said Fat Joe. “Just to be close to him… that energy was so infectious. When I think of Khaled, I think of love. That’s the only reason why you see the heavyweights here like you see them. In hip-hop, for a long time, we haven’t really embraced fatherhood. Nobody has done it like Khaled. And music-wise, there’s nobody with a greater ear.”
“You are the definition of, if you wanna make something happen, you gotta put in that work and make it happen,” said Diddy. “I’ve seen you from when we didn’t have nothing, from when we were just coming out from the mud.”
“God put me on this earth to be a light” said an emotional Khaled. “They didn’t believe in us, but God did. There’s only one Khaled, that’s all I gotta say. We the best. It’s not just me, it’s we.”
Khaled is a celebrity music producer and DJ who has collaborated with everyone from Beyoncé to Justin Bieber, and is noted for his varied catchphrases like “major key” and “we the greatest music.” “Khaled Khaled,” his most recent album, was released in April 2021 and features Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, and Post Malone. As a producer of H.E.R.’s “Back of My Mind,” he was nominated for album of the year at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. In 2020, his song “Higher,” which included Nipsey Hussle and John Legend, was nominated for a Grammy for best rap/sung performance.
