Conway The Machine is Thankful to Eminem For Time at Shady Records

Conway The Machine speaks on his departure from Shady Records.

Following the release of “Piano Love” last month, Conway The Machine is currently prepping the release of his upcoming Shady Records album “God Don’t Make Mistakes” and for the promo run, he made a visit to Complex News for a new interview. On the show, he spoke on his upcoming project, the guest appearances, working with Kanye West and more. The host also asked him if there’s any issue with Eminem helmed Shady Records, as Conway will leave the label after his GDMM album.

“There is no issues with Shady Records at all,” says Conway at the 14:15 mark. “I’m just thankful man, I’m blessed. I appreciate everybody over there at Shady Records. From the top on down, Eminem, Paul, Tracy, Mike H… the whole building. I’ve never had an issue and I have no issues now. If that’s where my journey in life takes me to doing more business with Shady then I’m with that too. After this album, my contractual obligations will be fulfilled and whatever comes after that I’m gonna accept it and be thankful.”

This year, the Griselda rapper has already dropped two projects. “La Maquina” album in April, and “If It Bleeds It Can Be Killed”, a joint effort with Big Ghost.

Conway announced on the Bootleg Kev Podcast that he is quitting the rap trio Griselda and going solo. Conway has no grudge and continues to support his former bandmates, but he believes it is time for a larger bag. “I put that sh*t on my back,” he said of the label. “Me and bro [Westside Gunn] built that.”The Buffalo, New York native also said that he’s looking around for new record deals and also compared his situation to basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who signed a $293 million contract back in 2020.

God Don’t Make Mistakes, according to Conway, will lean heavily on his unique sound, with much of production from his longtime partner Daringer. Machine has now verified this by posting the tracklist for God Don’t Make Mistakes on his Instagram page.

With guest performances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Jae Skeese, 7xvethegenius, T.I., Novel, Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Jill Scott, and Keisha Plum, the project clocks in at a respectable twelve tracks. Daringer, Cosmo, Hit-Boy, Bink!, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E League will be in charge of production.
