Billboard's Top 50 Albums of 2020 List Ignores Eminem's "Music To Be Murdered By"

Billboard snubs Eminem’s “Music To Be Murdered By”.

2020 is almost half over and Billboard’s staff decided to list the top 50 albums of the year so far. The list shows the Billboard staff biasedness as they blatantly snub one of the Top-selling album of this year, Eminem’s “Music To Be Murdered By“.

The Top 50 list includes all albums that made it to the top 10 of the biggest Spotify debuts of the year and biggest first-week sales of the year, except Eminem’s MTBMB, which recently hits 1 billion streams on Spotify & broke another Spotify record. The latest Eminem album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200, it holds the fourth place on the biggest US debut sales this year and it’s the best selling hip-hop album of the years in pure sales but still, it’s ignored by Billboard. A couple of months ago, Billboard also snub Eminem’s latest album in their early 2021 Grammy AOTY Contenders.

With 279,000 album-equivalent unit sales in its first week, the album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. Eminem then made history by being the first artist to have ten straight US number-one albums and one of just six musicians to have at least ten US number-one albums. Additionally, the album’s tracks received a combined 217.6 million on-demand streams. Music to Be Murdered By had over 1,053,000 equivalent unit sales as of December 2020, including 249,000 in pure sales.
