Beyonce's New Album RENAISSANCE Debuts At #1 On Billboard 200

Beyonce tops Billboard Charts with her new album “Renaissance”.

The first numbers for “Renaissance” are out now, and Beyonce earned another #1 debut on Billboard 200. The project topped the US Charts with 332k equivalent album units in the first week, which is the second biggest of this year, the biggest being Harry Styles’ “Harry’s House” which opened at 521,500 equivalent album units back in May. Queen Bey also becomes the first female artist to top the album chart in 2022.

‘Renaissance’ sold a total of 190,000 copies in terms of traditional album sales, which only include full-album purchases (across both physical and digital platforms; streaming figures are not taken into account). 121,000 of the sales were for CDs, while 26,000 were for vinyl copies and 43,000 were for digital downloads.

RENAISSANCE is Beyonce’s seventh studio album, and her first solo studio effort in 6 years, and a follow-up to 2016’s “Lemonade“. The 16-track album dropped with the lead single single “Break My Soul“, which also gets a remix version featuring Madonna. The project features contributions from Drake, Jay-Z, Pharrell, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Skrillex, Lucky Daye, Sabrina Claudio, Tems, Raphael Saadiq and more.

The album is also in the top 10 biggest debuts of the 2020s decade, which is topped by Taylor Swift’s “folklore” with 846k album sales.
