Benny the Butcher Responds To Criticism Over Def Jam Deal Use Y'all Fking Brains

Benny the Butcher tells fans to use their brains over Def Jam Criticism.

Last month, Benny the Butcher signed a major label deal with Def Jam Recordings. The deal took place with the help of Snoop Dogg, who’s the Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant of the iconic label. “I’m on Def Jam Records right. I’m a creative consultant executive, and just to let you know that it don’t exist no more, I’m going to announce on your show that I just signed Benny The Butcher and he is one of the hardest rappers up out of Buffalo, New York,” Snoop said. “So that’s showing that there are no more lines to be crossed. We are doing what we’re supposed to be doing. The butcher’s coming.”

However, fans haven’t been feeling good about Griselda rapper’s deal as they think it won’t help him move further in his career. The Buffalo rapper took to his social media and responded to all the suggestions he’s been getting in his DMs and Comments.

“You ni**as who be in my DMs, who be in my comments saying like, ‘Yo, don’t let Def Jam do this’ or ‘Don’t let Def Jam do that.’ What y’all on?” he said. “What, you think a ni**a work this hard and was this self-made for this long to get somewhere and let somebody tell me, ‘You know what, you can’t do it like this no more, you gotta do it like this.”

“Y’all gotta use y’all f**king brains before y’all start thinking sh*t like that. I’m a boss. You feel what I’m saying? That’s how I got here, by making my own decisions, and they understand that so, stop saying sh*t just to say it.”

Benny The Butcher isn’t the only renowned name on the Def Jam roster. Tunji Balogun was named as the label’s new CEO in August. After joining RCA Records as senior vice president of A&R in 2015, Balogun was promoted to executive vice president of A&R.

He will succeed Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg, who served as the former CEO of Def Jam from 2018 until 2020. Following Rosenberg’s resignation, Jeffrey Harleston served as temporary CEO.
