B.o.B Recalls Studio Session With Eminem In Detroit & The First Thing He Told Him

Eminem called B.o.B a Star during their studio session.

B.o.B recently had an interview with B High Atl, where the rapper talked about a lot of things including his first meeting with Eminem. B.o.B and Eminem collaborated on “Airplanes Part 2” in 2010, which also featured Hayley Williams. The “Strange Clouds” rapper recalls his crazy meeting with Shady in his Studio in Detroit.

“That was crazy,” he said. “I remember the first time I met Eminem was at his studio in Detroit. I remember getting into the studio, Of course, it’s exactly what you think Eminem’s studio will be. It’s f**king late, it’s spacious, the couches are red, and there are plaques on the wall. There is a refrigerator full of diet coke cause he loves diet coke. And he got Arcade games in this s**t. So I’m over by the arcades and we just waiting on them to get there.”

He continued, “So, There is a picture. You can Google Eminem and B.o.B. It’s a picture of me wearing this black Miskeen shirt and it’s like a earth with an Alien on it and it says B.o.B. The first thing he said to me was like ‘yo, you are f**king star dude.’ And I was like ‘Eminem… Slim Shady… Marshall Mathers told me I’m a star.’ [laughs] You gotta understand like It’s a hunger that you have as a artist that even when your idol tells you you are a star you are still like ‘nah… I need to prove it. Nah, ni**as don’t really know.’ But that s**t was wild cause I was like ‘what is he seeing in me that makes him think I’m a star?’”

The Love Below lyricist received high appreciation from B.o.B as well. He said: “I know what [Eminem] meant by that because… the way Andre approaches verses, he’s like a journalist, he’s storytelling. “You know when you see battle rap and they make you go, ‘Oooh!’ He’s able to do that just from talking from his perspective and you be like, ‘Damn! I never thought about that’ … To this day, I still listen to Dré’s verses and be thinking like, ‘How the f**k did he? Why did he say that like that?’”
