Ari Lennox Left Speechless As J. Cole Surprised Her At London Concert

J. Cole surprised Ari Lennox at her London concert.

J. Cole once again proves that he’s always there to support his label artists. Ari Lennox was performing at her concert at the Eventim Apollo in London, which was her second show in the Capital of England.

Lennox was on the last stage of her show when she started performing her song “Shea Butter Baby“, and suddenly gets a surprise from the Dreamville boss, and the crowd went berzerk.

“I can’t believe @realcoleworld and @dreamville surprised me at my London show like this,” she wrote on Instagram with the clip. “I love y’all so much.”

“Shea Butter Baby” was a collab between Ari Lennox and J. Cole, which was released in 2018 as part of the soundtrack for the sports drama film Creed II, titled Creed II: The Album. The track was later released as a single for Lennox’s album “Shea Butter Baby”.

“This is such an honor. It’s one of the biggest things that’s ever happened to me, Creed is such a real, amazing and phenomenal franchise, so this is insane. It came out of nowhere,” she said about the collab previously. “I had the song written for a while, the label submitted it and the director just happened to love it. I feel lucky as hell. Elite was doing what he does, producing, and it sounded beautiful. I was just going for Missy Elliott mixed with Raphael Saadiq vibes, and it all worked out and Cole hopped on it about a month ago and changed my life again. It sounds great and he absolutely killed it.”

Last year, Cole also assisted Lennox on her second studio album “age/sex/location” on the song “POF”. “I asked Ari what this new album means to her,” J. Cole wrote after getting a message from Lennox. “I needed to know cuz I f**k with it so heavy. What I hear is the highs, lows, joys and pains of dating life in 2022. But her answer made it even deeper for me. Appreciate you @arilennox Looking forward to the rest of the world hearing it.”
