Akon & Eminem's Smack That Video Hits One Billion Views On Youtube

Akon and Eminem’s “Smack That” joins Youtube One Billion Views Club.

Akon and Eminem’s 2006 smash hit “Smack That” visual has now surpassed one billion views on the video platform Youtube. The video now becomes Akon’s second to reach that milestone, while it is Eminem’s fifth music video to surpass one billion views.

“Smack That” was released as the first single from Akon’s second album “Konvicted” in 2006. The song peaked at number two on Billboard Hot 100 while topping the charts on 10 record charts. It also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

The video showcases a special appearance from Eric Roberts, an Academy Award nominee, and revolves around Akon being granted a one-day leave from prison to assist the police in conducting an undercover sting operation in a gentleman’s club that Eminem frequents.

In a previous interview, Akon recalled how he was searching for Eminem in Detroit, and got to meet him through rapper Obie Trice.
