Adele's 25 breaks 'NSYNC and Eminem's Album Sales Record

Adele’s New Album “25” breaks ‘NSYNC and Eminem’s Album Sales Record.

With about 1,800,000 copies sold in the first week, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP remains the fastest-selling solo album in the United States. Adele’s album “25” sold 3.38 million copies in its first week, making her the fastest-selling artist in the United States (not just as a solo artist, but also as a group), surpassing previous record holders NSYNC and Eminem as a single artist.  Adele’s third studio album “25” is in stores now and it’s already broke all sorts of sales records in 3 days of its release. According to Nielsen Music, Adele’s new album has already sold 2.4 million copies in just 3 days and it’s all set to sell around 2.9 million copies by the end of its first week of release.

Adele already broke the record of the fastest-selling album by a solo artist or group of all time in the U.S. by beating Eminem‘s “The Marshall Mathers LP” Record of selling around 1.8 million copies in the first week of its release back in 200 and American Pop Boy Band ‘NSYNC’s “No Strings Attached” record of selling 2.4 million copies in the first week of its release back in 1999 and “Celebrity” with around 1.9 million album sales in 2001. Adele’s “25” also became the 20th album to sell a million copies in a week. Below are the Top 20 album sales of all time including Adele’s 25 at the Top. Taylor Swift appeared on the list with 3 albums and Backstreet Boys, ‘NSYNC, and Eminem with two albums each.

Adele’s record sales are said to be evenly split between CD and digital album sales. Adele and her team decided not to release “25” on streaming services just yet, which could have influenced the numbers – it seems likely that listeners would have preferred to stream an album on Spotify or another service if it had been available, but since it wasn’t, buying the album was the only legal option.
