Ab-Soul Freestyle Over Kendrick Lamar's Die Hard, References Viral Kanye West & Sway Quote

Ab-Soul visits Sway In The Morning for a new interview.

Ab-Soul is prepping the release of his new album “Herbert” which is due to drop next week. The LA rapper has kicked off the promo campaign as he made a visit to Sway In The Morning show on Shade 45.

During the interview, he also decided to drop some bars over his fellow TDE rapper Kendrick Lamar’s song “Die Hard” off his latest album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers“. In his freestyle, he also references Kanye West’s viral Sway In The Morning interview.

“Save detention for deans and principals, I got an F in AP Chemistry, now my system’s full of chemicals / Dropout, about to teach ’em who the student is / Yeah, I’m a Pisces but can’t screw the fish, that’s food that’s cool to fish / Class is in session, Sway had the answers all along, that was never a question,” he raps.

Ab-Soul went into further detail on Herbert’s central subject elsewhere in the podcast “This album is about me really peeling the onion back. It’s easy to go too far and lose sight of where you started and what moulded you into even getting as far as you got. That’s the most important thing. Without your foundation, without knowing your roots and who you rooting for, you’re not sturdy and you’re not solid. This album is about getting back to self. Removing the arrogance and removing the ego.”

A couple of months ago, Ye finally admitted that Sway had the answers in the 2013 famous interview. “So Sway, almost 10 years ago, said man why don’t you do it on your own,” says the journalist Linsey Davis. “I will go ahead and say, Sway had the answer,” Ye admitted. “People are gonna be like, ‘No’.”
