Royce da 5’9″ continues the promo run for his new album ‘The Allegory‘ as he made a visit to Hot 97 for an interview on the Ebro in the Morning. On the show, he talks about his new project, his journey to sobriety, Mac Miller, and more. Royce Da 5’9′′ sat down with the Ebro in the Morning recently and opened up about his strenuous road to sobriety. Royce da 5’9″ also discusses Big Proof’s death and its effect on himself and the D12 family, as well as Mac Miller, new Eminem album, and others.

The host also talked about (at 26:28) Eminem’s new album ‘Music To Be Murdered By‘ and asked Royce, “What did you think of, obviously I loved your appearances on it but I thought that Em’s last album (MTBMB) was the best most complete em album in a minute, What were your thoughts on it. What was different why do you though like he was in his pocket it just felt like I don’t know there’s something different about it.

Royce also had something to say about Eminem’s latest album, Music To Be Murdered By: “Since Recovery, Music To Be Murdered By is the most complete Eminem album as far as I rank his albums.

Royce responded, “I say since ‘Recovery‘, as far as the way I rank his albums I will put it. It’s just a work in progress, he’s paying attention to what’s happening, he’s reading the comments, he’s judging the way everybody’s responding to everything, he’s doing and he’s the kind of person that he’s just gonna keep hitting and making his adjustments as he goes, he’s champion that’s what champions do.

Royce also talked about the effect of Proof’s death on everybody.”It’s catastrophic, I don’t think the guys, Porter, Swifty, bizarre all of the D12 guys, Marshall.” said Royce, “I don’t think they all the way bounce back from that I don’t think they ever bounce back from that, cuz he was just such an integral part of just every way the Machine moved. He kind of was the machine in a way, he was kind of the leader in a way I say that with respect. He was like the glue between all of them, I don’t think they all the way bounce back from that because he was a close friend to everybody. He was like 2pac, he knew people in every neighborhood, he’s cool with everybody in every neighborhood, he knew all the gangsters, he knew everybody.

Royce also talked about his new upcoming album The Allegory. The Allegory was Royce da 5’9″‘s debut album, which he self-produced. In terms of the manufacturing process, he stated: “My integrity means everything to me. If I say I’m producing it, I want people to feel ‘OK, Royce said he produced it, he produced it.’ I don’t want to be one of these guys, you hear about ’em later like ‘oh, he didn’t really do that beat. I heard such and such did that beat.'”

His ninth solo album, The Allegory, which is available on all streaming sites to is being supported by all of this. The Allegory has a variety of collaborations amongst artists including Benny the Butcher, Vince Staples, and DJ Premier. However, this CD is Royce’s idea. Given that he only last month acquired his first-ever solo production credit on Eminem’s Music to Be Murdered By LP, he produced every song on the album, which was a challenging task.
