Snow Tha Product Says Eminem, Lauryn Hill is in her DNA

Snow Tha Product says she’s inspired by Eminem, Lauryn Hill.

Atlantic Records’ rapper Snow Tha Product sat down with Hard Knock Tv‘s Nick Huff Barili for a new in-depth interview where she talked about her childhood, creative process, lyrics, getting into rap, cultural appropriation, and more. At around 3:00, Snow Tha Product also the likes of Eminem, Lauryn Hill, as the inspiration behind her music after Nick Huff asked her, “What’s in your musical DNA like if you had to like deconstruct your musical DNA like what artists do you think are in there?

Snow Tha Product says, “Definitely some Eminem, Definitely some Selena, definitely miss Lauryn Hill, as I feel like that like discovering her kind of like shifted a lot of, you know what I’m saying like I could’ve rapped about anything I could’ve talked about anything like I’m pretty creative so I could’ve said anything and It’s like hearing a woman tell you to like value yourself and everything like that, definitely struck a chord with me and it made me feel, like okay out of all, out of the spectrum that you can be as an artist like I like this. Obviously some of my angry raps too because of them.

Eminem was also one of the first rappers to introduce her to the world of hip hop. Snow Tha Product recalls how she first became interested in rap music: My homegirl let me have some CDs because I couldn’t afford it and she just gave me a Big Pun CD, an Eminem CD, Lauren Hill, Lil Kim, and Outcast… The best thing anybody could have done. That’s all I had, so I would just keep playing and keep playing it on loop. And if you think about those names and those things at that time that was the greatest music to put to make an artist. That was the ingredients.

Snow departed Atlantic Records in November 2018 and became an independent artist. She stated that the complete VIBEHIGHER mixtape will be released on December 22, 2018, because it was done and ready to be released under her own company Product Entertainment LLC.

Snow embarked on a 30-day “Going Off” tour in May. She went on tour again on September 12 for “Going Off: Part 2.” Snow confirmed the release of her album VALEMADRE in mid-2021. This will be her first solo album in five years, as well as her first studio album in a decade.
