Slim Jxmmi Reveals He Used To Try To Rap Like Eminem While Growing Up

Slim Jxmmi reflect on “Not So Bad (Leans Gone Cold)” featuring Eminem’s Stan sample.

Following the release of their new album “Sremm 4 Life,” Rae Sremmurd made a visit to The Bootleg Kev Podcast as part of the promo run. During the conversation, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee were asked about the song titled “Not So Bad (Leans Gone Cold),” which featured sample from Eminem’s iconic track “Stan”.

The duo then reflected on being influenced by the Detroit rapper while growing up, and Jxmmi revealed that he used to try to rap like Slim Shady.

“That [Eminem] was definitely my favourite rapper [growing up],” says Jxmmi. “Man what, I used to do all that ‘Hi, my name is’ [stuff]. I used to like the way he rapped. I [even] used to try and rap like him at one point in time in my life.”

The track featured on Em’s album The Marshall Mathers LP, has been immortalized in pop culture and the English language for shining a light on some fans’ unhealthy obsession with public figures. The song in question, “Not So Bad (Leans Gone Cold),” which caused a short-lived clash with rapper Millyz who also recently sampled the track.
