Royce Da 5'9 on Eminem Being A Hip-Hop Connoisseur He's A Straight Up Historian

Royce da 5’9″ talks about Eminem being a Hip-Hop head.

Royce da 5’9′′, who was recently nominated for a Grammy, performed a live stream with threeletterman3 in which he talked about the Grammy nomination, Fredro Starr, Lord Jamar, and other hip hop topics. They also discuss Eminem’s status as a Hip-Hop connoisseur. “Em’s a Hip-Hop head, like yourself, Hip-Hop connoisseur,” says threeletterman3.

He don’t get credit for nothing,” says Royce. “People swear that he is like some white privilege, like f**king MC gusto, knockoff reject. This guy is like a straight-up connoisseur, a straight-up historian. That very first day that I walked into the Hip-Hop shop and I just told you I saw Elzhi, you don’t think Marshall was in there. Fat with dark hair and weird glasses, like you don’t think he was standing right there, you know what I’m saying like the dawg he’s from the sh*ts.

Royce da 5’9″ released his new album The Allegory, which includes a single with his close friend Eminem. The song, titled “Perspective – Skit,” has Em talking about how rap has brought people together over a gloomy beat. He says at the end of the song, which is track 15 on the 22-track album, that no one gets to choose their parents and that “we don’t get to choose what hue we’re born.” What matters, he argues, is what you do with your identity, whether it’s nationality or ethnicity, and how you “make a difference.”
