Nicki Minaj Responds To Potential Verzuz Battle Against Drake or Lil Wayne

Nicki Minaj says there’s one of two female artists for a Verzuz battle.

Nicki Minaj is making her return to the music scene this week as she is collaborating with Lil Baby for a new single called “Do We Have A Problem”. During the promo run of her return, she made an appearance on 97.9 The Box Good Morning H-Town show for an interview with Keisha Nicole, J-Mac and Jessica Jeanz.

At one clip of the interview, Nicki Minaj was asked about a potential Verzuz battle, and if she would go against her former label-mates Lil Wayne and Drake. “But see, Drake and Wayne… they have so many bona fide Hip Hop hits, So I don’t know,” she said. “But I do think there might be a female or two that can [Verzuz battle her.]”

“Well, they [Verzuz creators] were talking to me about it,” she explains. “But look, if it’s going to be a fun [battle], then you never know… That’s all I’ll say about that. It should be like a celebration.”

The next Valentine’s Day Verzuz duel, featuring Anthony Hamilton and Musiq Soulchild, is scheduled on February 15. It will be held live at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. While love will be in the air that evening, the “Trollz” rapper is hoping for pleasure and happiness rather than rivalry or work when it’s her turn to perform. “It should feel like a celebration. That’s exactly what I would like it to feel like: fun, happiness,” Minaj explained. “Because … a lot of times with my career, stuff will feel like work. And now, I’m just like, ‘No, everything needs to feel good.’ That’s it.”
